I have been away from blogging for a while. August was a very bad month for us. We lost both of our dogs within 2 weeks and it has been devastating for us. We loved them dearly and they had a good long life both of them (14 and 16.5 years). We have lots of photos and good memories.
Now school is back and life seems to be getting back in order I felt it was time to get back to blogging on a regular basis.
My design wall project is an english paper pieced hexagon table topper or part of a quilt, I can't decide. What do you think?? As you can see the hexagons were made into flowers and then turned into an 8 pointed star.

Elaine, I'm so, so very sorry for your losses. Losing both your precious pets so close together must have been terribly tough. I'm glad you have lots of happy memories and photos to enjoy -- it sure does make it easier on down the line. Your hexie project is darling -- love the bright colors!! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear that you lost both of your dogs this summer. I hope your memories bring you comfort. Your hexies are lovely and I hope you'll consider adding them to my monthly hexie linky party posted today.
ReplyDeleteThe loss of a pet is hard to bear, and the loss of two...I'm so sorry for you....The hexies are so cheerful! Keep going until you're sick of them, then put the units together. (That's how I decided the size of my quilts: begin at the beginning and end at the end!)
ReplyDeleteSorry for your losses... Pets are more than animals, the are part of the fabric of our everyday lives, and when they are gone, there is a hole that you just cant seem to mend. <3
ReplyDeleteOhh the hexies look great! I has a very nostalgic feel!
ReplyDeleteIts always hard to hear that someone loses a friend. I know all to well how painful it is and how lonesome it can be.
ReplyDeleteI love hex projects. I have been cutting papers but have not started making them yet. I guess I'm waiting for a long car trip!
Hi again - so glad you joined my hexie linky party. I've come across 3 more hexie ideas on in the internet today - it's a sickness :)
