Let it snow!!

This winter has been a crazy one.  It rains one day and snows the next.  Saturday we got up to about 6" of snow to shovel, but it was light and fluffy and easy to shovel.  Once again it is snowing and blowing as I am writing this.
Early in January I started knitting neck warmers for the men in my life.  I didn't rush too much because the weather has been so erratic.  I finally finished the last one on Thursday just in time for the stormy weekend. I hope that I have not changed the course of the winter by knitting these.  The pattern is a simple k2p2 rib tube that is folded down to make a "turtleneck".

I have been working on my Bead Journal Project 2012 piece for January.  I know that I only have 2 days left but I am hoping to get it done.  When it is done I will post a photo.   I have also been working on my UFO - needlepoint picture - it is slow going.
Well I hope that I don't have too much snow to shovel tomorrow - even though I do like shovelling.

Hope you have all had a great weekend.

UFO update!

Good morning,

I am going to try to post every Wednesday about the progress of a UFO in progress.  Today I am announcing my first UFO of 2012.
It is a needlepoint kit I started about 15 years ago.  It came from a friend in Germany and I intend to send her a photo of the finished project when I am done.

As you can see it is flowers in a basket and think that I will finish it as a pillow because a framed piece will not really fit with my decorating style right now.  I am thinking that the way that I finish it with borders etc. will pull it into the 21st century - maybe???
If you have any ideas about how to finish this piece please let me know??

Have a great day!!!

Happy New Year - better late than never!!

I cannot believe it is 2012 already, it only seems like yesterday that we were worring about Y2K.
Anyway this year is going to be my best year yet- I hope.
My resolutions for this year are to finish up some UFO's, I have made a list. Isn't it amazing how many there are when you start writing them down.  I did finish a couple last year and am hoping to get more done this year.  I am going to try to lose some weight and start training for cycling this summer and last but not least be positive all year.  I will be so positive I will be driving everyone crazy - I hope!!!

The mystery quilt for our local quilt guild is almost done.  I just have to add the applique flowers, and quilt it.  This is just one block- will post a photo of the whole quilt when the applique flowers are done.

That is all for now. Tomorrow I will have a picture of the first UFO to start finishing.
Hope everyone is having a good start to the new year.

Have a great day!!
